Ayr Show Residents' Information

Airshow event information

This free event will take place on:

Friday 6 September 4pm - 8.30pm

Saturday 7 September 12 noon - 6pm

The site build will take place from Monday 2 September - Thursday 6 September and the event break down will be from Monday 9 September - Wednesday 11 September.  There will be security on site 24/7 during this time.

All emergency services are working closely with us to help deliver a safe event for those attending the Low Green and the wider population of Ayrshire. Security stewarding will be positioned surrounding the main event site and they will guide event attendees directly to the Esplanade and surrounding areas. 

A dedicated community engagement team will be on hand throughout the planning and delivery of the event.

Matthew Lamb of This is EventoS, will be managing community engagement along with staff from South Ayrshire Council.

The number of people attending will depend on a number of different factors, however our current projections are:

Ayr show traffic management information

To enable the event to run safely, and to manage a significant increase in traffic during the event, a number of temporary traffic management arrangements are planned. Significant changes have been made to last year following feedback from the community and visitors to the event.

A range of restrictions may be put in place, including:

  • Temporary Prohibition of Turning
  • Temporary No Waiting
  • Temporary Road Closures - No Access to Unauthorised Vehicles
  • Temporary No Loading Restrictions
  • Temporary Road Closures - No Access, Exemptions for Resident Vehicles

Letters will also be sent shortly to affected households with detailed information regarding the planned measures for each street and any required permits, where appropriate.

Airshow engagement opportunities and how to contact us

Hearing what the community has to say is important to us, we will be offering a range of engagement opportunities to answer any questions that you may have as a member of the local community.

This will include community engagement events, letters, a contact telephone number and this residents' information page, which will be kept up-to-date with the latest information.

We're aware that some people have yet to receive their resident parking permit for the airshow.  If you haven't got yours, please call the Residents' Ayrshow Parking Permit line on 01292 616 333 and we'll arrange to hand deliver it to you.

The line will be open at the following times:

  • Wednesday 4 September & Thursday 5 September - 8.45am to 4.45pm
  • Friday 6 September - 8.45am to 4pm

Alternatively, you can also pop along to one of our drop in sessions with your proof of address and you can collect your permit there.

Drop-in sessions will run as follows:

Speak to us in person

We will be facilitating three drop-in sessions, focusing on local stakeholders and members of the community to allow everyone the opportunity to hear directly about the planned event activity. Our aim is to address any issues that may arise and to communicate everything prior to the event, but also to be responsive throughout the weekend.
