Safer Shores - Enjoy Our Beaches Responsibly
Ayrshire's coastline is one of the area's most popular destinations, attracting large numbers of visitors throughout the year, particularly during warm, sunny spells. The Safer Shores campaign is a partnership approach designed to ensure everyone who visits our beaches can travel safely, enjoy their visit and return home safely.
Partners include the Ayrshire Civil Contingencies Team; Police Scotland; British Transport Police; ScotRail; NHS Ayrshire & Arran; the Coastguard, and all three Ayrshire Councils.
Through a coordinated approach - combining transport safety measures, first-aid provision, proactive beach patrols and targeted youth engagement - we aim to ensure that everyone can enjoy our beaches safely.
As part of the partnership approach, we are working in collaboration with Fearless in Scotland, the youth service of the independent charity Crimestoppers.
