The Devil's Feast

The Devil from Robert Burns most epic of poems - Tam o' Shanter is coming to Girvan along with witches and warlocks to chase Tam and leave behind the residents of their feast! Inspired by the iconic Auld Kirk scenes from the poem, the 1st floor of the McKechnie Institute will become a haunting display of wicked revelry!

Exploring the 1st floor of the McKechnie Institute decorated atmospherically for Halloween between the 14th - 31st October is FREE to visit during normal opening hours and no booking is required, however special performances require booking by purchasing a ticket.

The paid performances will last approximately 15 minutes and feature a short interactive tale inspired by the Tam o' Shanter poem. A demon hunter finds a young demon girl left behind in the Auld Kirk as the other ghouls chase Tam and Meg away!

Suitable for 8 years of age and upwards at parental discretion

Entry ticket for 1 adult and one child (under 16 years)

About Tamfest

Since 2015 Tamfest has grown into an enchanting experience for the entire family. Each year a line from the epic poem is chosen as the subtheme to keep the festival fresh and offer new insight into the characters and explore the story of the Tam o' Shanter.Tamfest is Ayr's spooktacular Hallowe'en celebration with a Tam o' Shanter twist. So join ghosts, ghouls and goblins in the town centre for a frighteningly good day out!
