Register for Primary 1
Every child requires to register for education at their catchment school.
The P1 Registration application process for August 2026 will open on 12 January 2026
If your child is 5 years old between 1 March 2026 and 28 February 2027 in normal circumstances they will be due to start Primary 1 in August 2026.

Apply
To complete the application you will be asked for the following:
- The name of your catchment school. Find your catchment school
- A scan or photo of:
- Your child's birth certificate
- •Two items of proof of residence (PDF, 116 KB)
- Roman Catholic Baptismal certificate (denominational school only)
If you do not wish your child to attend their catchment school you must do the following:
- Complete the primary 1 registration process and
- Submit a placing request form for the school you would like your child to attend. Parents/carers should be aware that once they have submitted a placing request application form they have no automatic right to a place at their catchment school.
