Woodward announced as airshow sponsor

We're excited to announce Woodward as a sponsor of this year's International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight!

The company, who lent support to the airshow in 2024, have signed up to sponsor the much-anticipated 2025 event. This year's festival will take place at Ayr shorefront on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 September with thrilling aerial displays to wow the crowds on both days.

Woodward are global leaders in the aerospace sector for energy conversion and controls with multiple locations in 14 countries, including one in South Ayrshire at Prestwick aerospace hub.

The Prestwick facility is responsible for the repair and overhaul of fuel control systems that keep the worlds fleets flying. With a span covering Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Africa the site is well placed to support its customers. At Prestwick the Aircraft types supported range from small Turboprop Aircraft, the narrow body fleets (single aisle) right up to the very large aircraft like the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the massive Airbus A380.

Leader of South Ayrshire Council, Councillor Brian Connolly said: "Sponsorship played a key role in the roaring success of last year's event, so I'm delighted that Woodward has chosen to support our airshow again this year. It's a pleasure to work with locally based businesses to deliver an event that celebrates excellence in the aerospace industry."

Depute Leader of South Ayrshire Council and Portfolio Holder for Tourism, Culture and Rural Affairs, Councillor Alec Clark said: "It's fantastic to have the support of local companies, especially those within the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) sector, which is so important to this event. Support from Woodward will help us put on a fantastic show for the crowds that are sure to flock to Ayr's shorefront."

General Manager of Woodward's Prestwick campus, Andy Marshall, said: "We are thrilled to once again be part of the International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight.
