Royal Canadian Air Force to appear at airshow for special flypast

South Ayrshire Council is pleased to announce that the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will appear at the International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight on Saturday 6 September.

The RCAF will perform a special flypast in their Hercules CC-130J.

The impressive aircraft may be a familiar sight for locals, with a detachment of CC-130J Hercules aircraft at Prestwick Airport.

The CC-130J Hercules has a range of more than 4000 miles and can transport approximately 80 passengers, operate on short unpaved runways, and fly in severe weather conditions - making it a fantastic aircraft for search and rescue and transport purposes, in addition to its operations out of Prestwick.

The International Ayr Show - Festival of Flight will take place at Ayr shorefront on Friday 5 and Saturday 6 September with exciting aerial displays on both days.
