Council staff choose new employee charity partner

Ayrshire Cancer Support

South Ayrshire Council staff have chosen Ayrshire Cancer Support as their new Employee Charity Partner for 2026.

The partnership was chosen following a nomination and voting process, reflecting employees' shared commitment to making a meaningful impact in the communities where they live and work.

Ayrshire Cancer Support is a local charity providing free practical and emotional support to people living with cancer, their families, carers and bereaved across Ayrshire for nearly 45 years. Its services include drop-in centres, professional counselling, complementary therapies, support groups, patient transport to hospital appointments, tailored help for children and young people and informational resources to help everyone affected by cancer throughout Ayrshire.

Ayrshire Cancer Support's Director of Income and Marketing, Nicola George, said: "We're incredibly proud and honoured to have been nominated by South Ayrshire Council employees as their charity partner for 2026-27. Being recognised by local staff who see the impact of our work in communities every day means so much to us. This support will help us continue delivering compassionate, professional and holistic care for anyone affected by cancer, ensuring no one has to face their journey alone."

South Ayrshire Council's Chief Executive, Stephen Penman said: "We are extremely excited to welcome Ayrshire Cancer Support as our 2026 Employee Charity Partner. Our staff are passionate about giving back and this partnership gives us the opportunity to work together in support of a local cause that truly matters."
