NeuroFitness
What is NeuroFitness?
NeuroFitness classes are gym -based circuit style classes aimed to support individuals with a range of neurological conditions to become more active and improve physical fitness. This class is 1 hour in duration and uses a mix of cardiovascular and weighted machines as well as mixed free equipment to support movement, challenge cv fitness levels, strength, and coordination.
How do I become involved in NeuroFitness?
NeuroFitness is aimed at though not exclusive to individuals with the following conditions:
- Parkinson's Disease
- Post Stroke
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Dementia
- Epilepsy
You can also be referred to attend NeuroFitness if you have an existing neurological condition, low fitness levels and are looking to slowly build up your confidence in a fitness environment. You can be referred to NeuroFitness by a health professional e.g. GP, practice nurse, neurological physiotherapist, etc. Or by completing the Self Referral form below:
Once your referral form is received by the Active Living Team one of our staff members will call you to arrange an appointment for you to come and have an assessment prior to joining the class.
What is the cost?
All classes are included within our health membership which costs £21 per month. This gives access to:
- Unlimited health classes (HARP, Encore Broadway Boogie, Keep Fit Low, Invigor8 etc)
- Unlimited Evolve classes
- Unlimited Gym and Swim
