CCTV overview

South Ayrshire Council Thriving Communities (Community Safety) work in partnership to ensure a co-ordinated approach and response to antisocial behaviour.

Part of this response includes deployment of temporary CCTV cameras.

We have 10 re-deployable cameras, which can be used  in communities where correct infrastructure allows.

Partners meet on a quarterly basis to decide siting of re-deployable cameras. Decisions are made using the following criteria.

  • The sharing and monitoring of statistics to inform deployment decisions.
  • Consideration of all partners views and perspectives.
  • Assessment of any emerging trends, concerns and issues.
  • Ensuring the deployment  of CCTV is proportionate to increase safety and perceptions of safety in community when deployed.
