Current civic licence applications

​​Applications made under the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 are subject to a 28 day consultation period begins from the date an application for grant or renewal of a Licence is lodged with the Council. During the consultation period anyone can make an objection or representation.

You will find a list of recent applications (other than street traders, taxi and private hire licences) and the last date for objections or representations for each application below.

Email objections can be sent to [email protected] stating the reason for the objection/representation or alternatively mailed to South Ayrshire Council, Licensing, County Buildings, Wellington Square, AYR, KA7 1DR

The objection/representation will only be entertained by the Council if the objection or representation:

(a) is in writing;

(b) specifies the grounds of the objection or, as the case may be, the nature of the representation;

(c) specifies the name and address of the person making it;

(d) is signed by him or on his behalf;

(e) was made to them within 28 days

Notwithstanding sub-paragraph (e) above, it shall be competent for a licensing authority to entertain an objection or representation received by them before they take a final decision upon the application to which it relates if they are satisfied that there is sufficient reason why it was not made in the time required under that sub-paragraph.

An objection or representation shall be made if it is delivered by hand within the time there specified to the licensing authority or posted (by registered or recorded delivery post) so that in the normal course of post it might be expected to be delivered to them within that time.

The Council must send a copy of any objection or representation to the applicant, which will include the name and address of the person making the objection or representation (email, telephone number and signature will be redacted).
