Exciting New Exhibitions Launch This Weekend at Rozelle House Museum and Galleries

South Ayrshire Council's Rozelle House Museum and Galleries is excited to share the launch of two brand new exhibitions which will be available to view from 10am this Saturday (6 December).

In Gallery 1 the exhibition will display works of local artist Sean McGlashan. Originally from Pennsylvania, Sean has lived in South Ayrshire for over 25 years and has had an impressive career as both an artist and curator.

The exhibition will showcase a collection of works that span his career and includes vibrant and colourful still life, landscape, figurative and abstract works.

Gallery 2's exhibition, titled 'Hold Utopia', will display paintings by Ayrshire artist and College Lecturer, Chris Hugh MacKenzie.

This exhibition will showcase a collection of recent paintings and brings together a series of works exploring themes of architecture, memory, voyage and change.

In addition to these exciting new exhibitions, Rozelle House will also be showing some of the council's Fine Art Collection co-selected and curated by both Sean McGlashan and Chris Hugh MacKenzie.

South Ayrshire Council's Depute Leader and Policy Lead for Commercial/Operational Services, Councillor Alec Clark, said: "These new exhibitions are a fantastic opportunity to showcase and support the work of two very talented local artists. The displays provide an opportunity for audiences across the country to visit South Ayrshire to come together and celebrate these impressive collections."

South Ayrshire Council's Policy Lead for Leisure and Community Services, Councillor Chris Cullen, said: "I'm delighted that our museums and galleries host exhibitionsthat help to inspire others and enable people to explore their creative side. I'm sure our two newest offerings will be incredibly interesting and successful, and I look forward to the opening."

Opening times for the exhibitions are Monday - Saturday 10:00am - 5:00pm and Sunday 12:00pm until 5:00pm. Entry is free.
