Halloween 2025

South Ayrshire Council is hosting a range of events and activities suitable for all the family to mark the Hallowe'en season.

Rozelle House Museum and Galleries kicks off the festivities with two spooktacular events which are now open until Sunday 16 November.

The Tam O' Shanter Experience offers visitors the chance to don the blue bonnet and become Tam O' Shanter, experiencing Alloway Kirk and the Brig O' Doon in a new and exciting way. There are also a range of spooky activities suitable for all ages within the galleries. The Mat O' Shanter Exhibition showcases the brand-new book, 'Mat O' Shanter - A Cautionary Tale' by local author, Simon Lamb, and illustrations by Ross MacRae, inspired by the famous Robert Burns tale

Throughout October, spooky storytelling, drama and craft workshops will be available at our Libraries across South Ayrshire, with stories including 'Harry Potter'; 'The Room on the Broom'; and 'Spinderella'.

A free family fun day will take place on Saturday 25 October at the Cutty Sark Centre from 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Activities will include historical walks; craft stalls; face painting; children's active play with potions and spells; magicians and much more. To add to the magic, there will also be a pumpkin patch, offering the chance for members of the public to showcase their pumpkin carving skills.
