Director of Education to leave South Ayrshire Council

South Ayrshire Council's Depute Chief Executive and Director of Education, Lyndsay McRoberts is set to leave the Council.

Lyndsay has been appointed Director of Education at South Lanarkshire Council and is due to take up her new post in the summer.

Lyndsay was appointed Director of Education for South Ayrshire Council in October 2022 and became Depute Chief Executive in November the following year.

A recruitment process to appoint a new Director of Education will now begin.

Lyndsay said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time in South Ayrshire as Director of Education, and I am very proud of all we have achieved over the past few years.  I know that the service will continue to go from strength to strength and that the lives of our children and families will continue to be positively impacted by our schools."

Councillor Martin Dowey, Leader of South Ayrshire Council said: "Lyndsay has been a key figure here since her return to South Ayrshire Council in 2022. We will continue to build on the excellent work that Lyndsay has undertaken in the last few years, and I wish her every success for the future."

Councillor William Grant, Education Portfolio Holder said: "Lyndsay has brought a wealth of experience to South Ayrshire Council, and I will be sorry to see her go. She will now play an important role in the recruitment of a new Director of Education. I wish Lyndsay all the best in her new post."
