Council makes charitable donation of £12,500

South Ayrshire Provost Iain Campbell welcomed representatives from two Ayrshire charities to County Buildings in Ayr on Monday 10 March to present donations on behalf of South Ayrshire Council.
Headway Ayrshire and No One Dies Alone (NODA) Ayrshire each received £6,250 from one of the Council's charitable schemes.
Headway Ayrshire is a charity which aims to raise awareness around head and brain injuries and educate people to help avoid future incidences of head and brain injury. They also offer consistent needs-based support to those affected, their families, and carers, and campaign for better services.
NODA Ayrshire is a not-for-profit organisation which provides emotional support and companionship to those who are dying. Volunteers offer compassionate care, helping to relieve the loneliness and isolation of end of life.
South Ayrshire Provost, Iain Campbell said: "It's an honour to present these donations on behalf of the Council to two wonderful Ayrshire based organisations. The efforts of Headway and NODA do not go unnoticed within our community, and I hope the funds will enable these charities to reach more people and continue providing valuable services."
Councillor Martin Kilbride, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Buildings, Housing and Environment said: "Headway and NODA offer a lot of support to members of our community, and I'm delighted that we've been able to make donations to such worthwhile causes."
Jayne McClymont, Manager of Headway Ayrshire, said: "Headway Ayrshire are absolutely delighted to receive this donation from SAC. The donation will assist greatly with the provision of the vital information, advice, and support services that the Charity provides across South Ayrshire."
Linda Jane McCurrach, CEO & Director of NODA Ayrshire, said: "We'd like to say a huge thank you for this donation which will go a long way to helping us to develop our services in line with the increase in referrals that we are now receiving since we took on our first premises in Irvine. Having this support means that we can hopefully reach more people in our community that need our services but haven't heard of us yet."
