Accessible Parking Comms - June 2026 

We're delighted that from Monday 15th June the work to transform our Changing Village at the Citadel gets underway. To support this work, and during the first phases of strip out of existing fixtures and fittings, there will be some limited impact within the Citadel car park. 

From Monday 15th June, three accessible parking spaces will not be available. These spaces will be the spaces that are approached first when driving into the car park. Use of the pedestrian path against the building will be limited but a walkway will be installed to allow customers to walk to the main entrance. It is anticipated that this arrangement will be in place for approximately 4 weeks. 

We would like to thank you for your support and patience during this period of limited impact.

Citadel Leisure Centre is our largest venue situated in the seaside town of Ayr.  Situated just off the Esplanade, we are easily accessed if travelling by car (on site parking available), bus or foot.  

Swim in one of our three pools, our Main Pool is a 25m 6 lane pool.  We also have a shallow Teaching Pool and a Flexi Pool with a 1 meter diving board and moveable floor.  Adjacent to the main pool is a large, communal changing village including lockers (50 pence coin required), cubicles, toilets, showers and separate accessible changing spaces.  We run our popular Learn2 Swim programme in the Citadel - have a look at what we have to offer.

If swimming isn't your thing, our Gym is your ultimate destination for an inclusive fitness regime. The state-of-the-art gym, equipped with the latest cardio and strength training equipment, provides an efficient and engaging workout. The dedicated free weights area allows you to focus on strength training at your own pace. We offer a wide range of fitness classes for all abilities, including Spin, Yoga, Pilates, Circuits, and many more.

We also have squash courts available to hire.
