Remembering our loved ones at Christmas

Image with text saying news

South Ayrshire Council will hold a Christmas Candlelight Service at Masonhill Crematorium on Sunday 10 December at 3:30pm.

We know that this can be a difficult time of year for people who have lost loved ones. It's our hope that this uplifting service will help people facing the festive season without that special person for the first time.

The service will feature songs, Christmas carols, readings and prayers and everyone is welcome to attend.

Led by Reverend John McCutcheon and Celebrant Drew Brady, the service will conclude with hot spiced non-alcoholic punch, served with tasty minced pies.

South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Buildings, Housing and Environment, Councillor Martin Kilbride said: "Anyone experiencing the absence of a loved one can find the festive season particularly difficult.  This service is for anyone who wants to remember lost family and friends, regardless of religious beliefs.  Whether you come alone, with friends, or with colleagues, you can expect a warm welcome."
