Council triumph at GO Awards

South Ayrshire Council won the Contract and Supplier Management (CSM) Award at the national Government Opportunity (GO) Awards earlier this month.
The prestigious event, which was held in Solihull, celebrates the achievements and successes of everyone involved in the delivery of public sector services across the UK.
The Council's Procurement Team stood out from the competition with their expansion of the CSM process across all Council services, including our Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) in 2021/22.
The team of 5 dedicated officers have succeeded in achieving savings, efficiencies and improving relationships with suppliers. They have developed a streamlined process to identify problems with contracts at the earliest opportunity and work with key stakeholders to resolve any issues.
South Ayrshire Council was also a finalist in the Digital Service Delivery category.
Councillor Ian Davis, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Finance, HR and ICT said: "It's wonderful to see our Procurement Team commended for their efforts. It's extremely impressive not only to have won an award, but to have been nominated in multiple categories.
"Quite often, the hard work that goes into maintaining the everyday operations of the Council goes unnoticed, so it's fantastic to see our staff being recognised with an award - especially with such a high standard of competition. Congratulations!"
David Alexander, Procurement Service Lead said: "To win a national GO Award and to see South Ayrshire Council's logo among other national winners was very humbling, especially considering the status and quality of the other larger organisations within our category.
"I would like to thank the team as well as colleagues within the HSCP partnership with whom we have worked with very closely to align our Contract and Supplier Management process with their own procedures."
