Summer Hill Walk Day - Fairy Knowe (Barr Hills)

A full day of hill walking led by our experienced Dolphin House instructors. Transport from Girvan Academy provided - pick up 09:30, returning around 16.00 

This day follows the beautiful Fairy Knowe Trails. 

Children should be in P5 (2022-23 school year) and above - and must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets

Tickets for adults and children are priced at £7.50 each. As children must be accompanied by an adult, at least 2 tickets (one child, one adult) must be purchased at the time of booking. 

Up to 5 tickets can be booked at one time. 

The Route

Fairy Knowe (Barr Hills)

This waymarked circular walk heads up a forested glen from above the picturesque village of Barr. The route visits the beautiful Fairy Knowe then climbs a long flight of steps up a narrow grassy ridge before returning through the forest.

Transport

Minibus transport is included and pick up will be from Girvan Academy at 09:30am - returning around 16.00.

Lunch

Participants should bring their own packed lunch and bottled water.

Clothing & Equipment

Participants should wear clothing and footwear appropriate for the weather and activity. Layered clothing is best for the conditions - ideally a quick drying base layer, a thin fleece for the mid-layer and a light waterproof as the outer layer.

The terrain is mainly forest tracks and paths - with one steep but short section.

Medical Consent Form

A medical consent form is required for each participant and should be completed ahead of the activity.
