Improving Girvan - have your say!
People who live and work in Girvan are being invited to have their say on how to improve their town at a public drop-in session on Sunday 4 December.
The session will be part of Girvan's Christmas Street Party celebrations, so look for the stall outside the McKechnie Institute from 1:00pm to 5:30pm.
This is your chance to help develop a Place Based Strategy for the town. The strategy already includes some grass root priorities for Girvan, but what improvements would you make?
During the session, conversations are expected on draft design proposals for the Quayside and Knockcushan Street Car Park.
Councillor Bob Pollock, Economic Development Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "I hope people take a wee bit of time during the festivities to talk to the team. We want to gather views on making the most of Girvan's unique townscape, creating employment opportunities and how to better support the local community; so, have your say!"
George Payiatis from urban design specialists Create Streets said: "We've had an incredible amount of feedback so far from groups and businesses in Girvan and we're really looking forward to hearing more from people at the Christmas Street Party".
Feedback from the event will be used to further develop the Place Based Strategy for Girvan and shape design proposals for the town, which will go before Councillors in 2023.
This event builds on previous online engagement carried out in June 2022, an initial design workshop on August 26 and a drop in event on August 27 (2022).
