Energy Efficient Scotland
Energy Efficient Scotland: Area Based Schemes (EES ABS)
The Scottish Government has awarded grant funding to all Local Authorities in financial year 2023-24 to continue work under the Area Based Schemes.
This funding is awarded to Local Authorities to develop and deliver solid wall insulation programmes to improve the energy performance of privately owned homes across Scotland, therefore reducing household energy bills and lowering carbon emissions in the housing sector. We also provide capital funding to their own stock which enables delivery of a mixed-tenure programme.
We employ local energy efficiency charity the Energy Agency as managing agent of the EES ABS programme. South Ayrshire Council and the Energy Agency are currently finalising the address list for this year's programme and will contact eligible households directly once this is concluded
ECO Flexible Eligibility
We continue to support our residents by accessing external funding where possible. The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is an obligation on energy suppliers aimed at helping households cut their energy bills and reduce carbon emissions by installing energy saving measures. To access ECO Flexible Eligibility funding, Local Authorities have a legislative requirement to publish a Statement of Intent (SOI) which defines qualifying criteria. View our SOI (Word doc) [101KB] .
