The Council apologises for the use of inappropriate language at a Council meeting on 1 May and for any offence this may have caused
Councillor Gavin Scott has provided an unreserved apology to the Chief Executive for the use of the profanity at the Council meeting of 1 May 2025 and asked that his apology be made available publicly. Councillor Scott states that he was unaware that his microphone was live, but acknowledged that the use of this language is totally inappropriate at any time. He apologised to the councillor at whom his comment was directed, who accepted his apology. He further apologises unreservedly to all people who were present in the hall, or who joined remotely for this webcast for swearing and the offence caused.
