Our Trading Standards Service is responsible for assessing compliance with and enforcement of Trading Standards legislation within South Ayrshire.
Trading Standards have a role in quantity, quality, safety, price and description of goods and services bought in shops and through websites. We also have a role to play in relation to:
- welfare of farmed animals
- underage sales of tobacco and vapes
- supply of illicit cigarettes, counterfeit goods
- accuracy of weighing and measuring equipment including petrol pumps, measures of alcohol and scales used within retail premises

South Ayrshire Trading Standards will be notified by ADS of any enquiries from residents of South Ayrshire, or any enquiry that concerns a South Ayrshire trader.
