Safer Shores - Enjoy Our Beaches Responsibly
Safer Shores continues for 2025. We're working alongside the Ayrshire Civil Contingencies Team, British Red Cross, British Transport Police, Coastwatch, Maritime & Coastguard Agency, NHS Ayrshire & Arran, East and North Ayrshire Councils, Police Scotland, ScotRail, Scottish Ambulance Service, and the Scottish Fire & Rescue Service to help everyone make the most of Ayrshire's beaches.
The purpose of Safer Shores is to ensure that everyone who visits the Ayrshire coast during the holidays and the 'beach season' can get here safely and enjoy their visit.
- Safer Shores partners coordinate transport, first‑aid cover, and beach safety patrols.
- ScotRail and British Transport Police will continue to help keep journeys comfortable for all passengers.
- Additional uniformed patrols from Police Scotland and British Transport Police will be on hand in key coastal towns and at rail hubs.
