Primary and Secondary school children

All school children in Primary 1, 2, and 3 are entitled to free school meals which is to the value of £2.15 per day. The cost for a secondary school meal is £2.25.

All P4 pupils at the following schools will be entitled to Free School Meals

Braehead Primary School | Cairn Primary School | Dalmilling Primary School | Girvan Primary School | Kincaidston Primary School | Muirhead Primary School | Newton Primary School | Sacred Heart Primary School | St Cuthbert’s Primary School | St John’s Primary School

Other pupils may be entitled to free school meals if they meet the qualifying criteria.

Pre-school children aged 2-5

Applications for free school meals for pre-school children aged 2 to 5 will be accepted from parents/ carers who meet the eligibility criteria and whose child attends a local authority or partnership centre providing early learning and childcare for more than 4 hours a day and over the lunchtime period.

Or

Children aged 2 or over who are (or have been at any point since turning 2) either looked after by the Council, the subject of a kinship care order or a child with a parent-appointed guardian qualify for a free school meal.

Note: All documentation must be dated within the previous six months, with the exception of Child Tax Credit Letter and/or Working Tax Credit letter which must be dated within the current tax year and the most recent Universal Credit journal should be provided. No photocopies please.

Please note a Clothing Grant application will require to be submitted.
