LDP2: call for sites
The Planning Service launched the work programme for the new South Ayrshire Local Development Plan in July 2016 and the call for
sites, which ran from 5th December 2016 until 27th January 2017 was one of the first formal steps taken. The call was an
opportunity for landowners, agents and developers to suggest land which they believe could be developed to meet future demand
for homes and jobs.
We received 80 suggestions for sites. The location of those sites can be found on the
Call for Sites interactive map,
but at the moment the sites have not been considered or selected for inclusion in the Proposed Plan.
Each site will be assessed against appropriate technical information and the Plan’s spatial strategy to provide a shortlist that
could accommodate growth in a sustainable way. There will be an opportunity for the public to comment on the suggested sites
when we publish our “Main Issues Report” later this year.
If you would like to find out more information about the Local Development Plan or the call for sites process, please contact the
Development Plan team.
