Apply for planning permission

Planning Services staff are now only available between 10am - 11am and 2pm - 3pm for general public enquires. Outside of these hours, officers are available by appointment only.

Please Note : The Planning Service is experiencing the submission of high volumes of planning applications at the present time. There is a significant number of applications awaiting registration, assessment and determination and we are progressing our way through caseload as quickly possible; and as available resources permit. Please be advised, therefore, that you may experience delays in receiving a decision on your application and I apologise should any delay occur. We are endeavouring to process caseload as quickly as possible.
Additionally there may also be consequential delays in responding to pre-application and other general enquiries.

Apply online

Submit your planning application via the ePlanning Scotland website. Please consider submitting your application, where possible, online.

The Heads of Planning Scotland has produced a guidance note on the national standards for the validation of planning and other related consents in Scotland. This is a best practice guide and is a useful resource for understanding the information that should accompany applications. This document is available to view at Heads of Planning Scotland.

Paper form

Whilst you can still submit your planning application using a paper form, please be aware that it will take longer for your application to be received and validated. The paper forms can be found on the ePlanning Scotland website.
