What is myaccount and why do I need it?

Myaccount is a free, easy-to-use and secure sign-in service developed by the Scottish Government to make it easier for people to access public services across Scotland. What is iPayimpact?

iPayimpact is the new online school payments system being introduced by the Council, initially at all eight secondary schools. It’s provided by Cash Registers (Buccleuch) Ltd Trading as CRB Cunninghams, which is registered with the UK Information Commissioner. Find out more at

How do I register for online school payments?

Access online school payments and follow the instructions to register and create a new account. If you are already registered with MyAccount and have a MyAccount user ID and password, click on the ‘sign in with’ button and put in your details.

How do I top up my child’s account?

Access online school payments and log in. Select the account you want to top-up. Select the type of top-up you want to add (all schools will use the system for school meals, but can also use it for school trips and other school items). Add the items/top-up amount you want to pay into the basket, ensuring the overall total for all transactions is at least £1. Proceed to Checkout.

What cards can I use to make a payment?

You can make payments with Maestro, Switch, Delta, Electron, Solo and Visa debit cards. You can also use MasterCard and Visa credit cards.

How does it work if my child receives free school meals?

If your child is entitled to a free school meal, their account will be automatically credited with the allowance on a daily basis.

Can I pay for other school items online?

It’s up to each school to decide which ‘funds’ can be paid online. All secondary school meals can be paid for online and we expect school trips and other school items to be made available for purchase online too. Your child’s school will keep you informed.

Do I have to pay online?

No. If you prefer, you can continue to pay for school meals, trips and other items and activities in the same way you do now.

Is there a limit to how much money I can add?

No. We recommend that you top-up your child’s school meal account with a minimum of £6 and each transaction you make – or each basket you check out – must total a minimum of £1.

How will you use the personal information I provide?

The Council holds personal information about you and your family for the purpose of managing your child’s education. The Council uses a secure national database, called SEEMiS, to record this information. An extract of relevant information will be transferred securely from SEEMiS to iPayimpact for the purpose of using the online school payments system and managing school finances.

By signing up to the system, you agree that the following information will be securely transferred: parent name, address, contact details, pupil name, address, date of birth, year group, class, and entitlement to free school meals. A regular refresh has been designed between SEEMiS and iPayimpact to ensure that personal data is kept accurate and up to date.
