Heathfield were champions in the large school category
It was thrills and spills at the Primary Schools Relay event held at Dam Park recently.
The annual competition gives P6 and P7 school children across South Ayrshire, the chance to run against each other in a number of races for both girls and boys.
St Patricks came first in the small schools category with Tarbolton and St Ninian's tied for second. The winner in the large school category was Heathfield Primary with Doonfoot the runners up.
The event is coordinated by the Council's Sports Development team with volunteers from Ayrshire Harriers and Ayr Seaforth Athletics Clubs. The event is sponsored by South Ayrshire Sports Council.
Councillor Brian McGinley, Economy and Culture Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council said: "Well done to all the children that took part, it's great to know we have talented young athletes in South Ayrshire. All the runners are an inspiration and I hope they encourage even more children to take up sport and get active and stay active."
Trophies and medals were presented by Chris Carlyle, Chair of South Ayrshire Sports Council.
