Winners! Prince's Trust Ayrshire Enterprise awards

Three young Ayrshire entrepreneurs have just received recognition for their hard work and success at The Prince's Trust Ayrshire Enterprise awards finals 2016 held at the County Buildings in Ayr.

Angus Corbett – Aye Glass, (South Ayrshire), Danielle Farrel – Your Options Understood (North Ayrshire) and Chris McCluskie – Ikonic Print (East Ayrshire) were named as Ayrshire's top young entrepreneurs.

The winners were presented with a cash prize and a certificate of their achievements by the joint sponsors of the top awards, North Ayrshire Council, East Ayrshire Council and South Ayrshire Council.

Angus Corbett who has a studio in Barr, South Ayrshire, first approached the Prince's Trust in 2014 seeking support for his unique handmade artistic glasswork venture. He was supported through the Prince's Trust's Enterprise Programme which included an intensive training course delivered by industry experts. This has enabled him to set up his business and create beautiful, original glass designs.

There were also special achievement awards given to other Prince's Trust Supported businesses and one was picked up by Robert O'Rorke from Bearded Lady Tattoo in Ayr. Robert received the Determined to Succeed Award, sponsored by Via Appia, for his artistic achievement.

Youngsters from Prestwick Academy also picked up Certificates of Achievement. The pupils have set up two micro-businesses, Bike Boyz and Stiletto Gals and are running them like a commercial business, picking up valuable experience along the way.
