People in Prestwick and surrounding villages are being encouraged to show their support for local community groups by voting for their favourites.
The latest Prestwick and villages' decision day will be held on Saturday 9 March 2019 at Prestwick Academy.
The Prestwick and villages' locality planning group event is part of a drive to get people actively involved in local decision making known as 'Participatory Budgeting'. Building on the success of recent community funding decision days, this latest event will see groups pitch ideas for community projects to local people who will then vote to award funding.
Up to £14,500 is available and groups can be funded up to £1000. Voting is open to everyone 10 years old and over who lives, works, volunteers or studies in Prestwick, Newton North, Heathfield, Monkton or Symington.
The money is being made available from South Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, and the Alcohol and Drug Partnership.
The 'Decision Day' event takes place at Prestwick Academy on Saturday, 9 March between 10am-12 noon. For more information call Seonaid Lewis on 01292 559 359 or email: Seonaid.Lewis@south-ayrshire.gov.uk
