The refurbished toilets are now back in business
People using Prestwick Beach now have access to improved facilities, following the reopening of the public toilets on Links Road
The popular toilets - which are fully accessible and include a baby-changing facility - now benefit from new lighting, flooring and a new entrance way fitted with a paddle gate.
There is now a 30 pence charge to use the toilets; however, disabled people can continue to access them free of charge with their RADAR key.
The Council is spending around £200,000 to refurbish a number of public toilets in South Ayrshire: The Flushes, Girvan; Ainslie Park, Girvan; Links Road, Prestwick; Church Street, Troon; and St. Meddans, Troon.
Councillor Peter Henderson, Resources and Performance Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council, said: "We're committed to maintaining services and these improvements in Prestwick will make a big difference to locals and visitors.
"To help maintain these public toilets, we have introduced a small service charge in-line with similar projects."
