Like 2 Walk? Beautiful scenery awaits
If you like walking, South Ayrshire Council and partners have something right up your street! Like 2 Walk? Takes place from Friday 19 to Monday 22 of May, with a series of guided walks across South Ayrshire. Thanks to lottery funding and the support of a wide range of partners, all the walks are free of charge.
From nature walks at Belleisle to health walks in Prestwick there is something for everyone and look out for the walking football in Maybole!
Most of the walks are suitable for everybody and all the health walks are gentle and low level, however you can still experience hill walking in Straiton which will feature some fantastic panoramic views.
There are heritage walks to soak up a bit of local history and you can immerse yourself in wildlife and even learn more about the world of the bumblebee during a walk along the stunning South Ayrshire coast.
On Sunday 21 May from 1pm-4pm, there's a family fun day at Belleisle Park with treasure hunts, orienteering and lawn games.
Jill Cronin, Head of Enterprise, Development and Leisure at South Ayrshire Council said: "Walking is a great way to enjoy South Ayrshire and get active at the same time. We are really lucky to be in a very scenic part of the country and these walks show off some of our most spectacular views.
"There are walks to suit everyone from healthy walks to leisurely strolls taking in our unique history and fabulous wildlife. You can meet new people, get active and it won't cost a penny….visit the website, pick a walk and get out there."
