For so many of us, the cyber world has become an integral part of our lives, whether we're sending emails or browsing websites we're using digital skills, but there's always more to learn.
The Council has invited Google's digital skills training initiative, the Google Digital Garage, to South Ayrshire to help us sharpen our digital skills. Google's converted double decker Digital Garage bus will be in Ayr Bus Station on Wednesday 10 October from 9am to 5pm, so get on board for some free advice!
Maybe you're a small business owner looking to make social media work for you, perhaps you would like to know what digital skills employers are looking for? Or you want to stay safe from the online scammers - these are just some of the topics covered by Google's experts.
You can pop in for some friendly advice when you can but to attend the following courses, you will need to book your free place in advance:
10am-11am Stay Safe Online
12pm-1:30pm First Steps Online
2:30pm-3:30pm An introduction to Digital Advertising.
To book your place visit www.eventbrite.co.uk and type 'Google Digital Garage Bus Tour Ayr Bus Station' into the 'looking for' box. If you can't get online to book a course you can still pop along for advice.
If you miss the Google Digital Garage Bus, don't worry you can still get help from the Council, visit www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/libraries/learn-something-new.aspx or contact your local library.
Google's bus tour is part of its Digital Garage initiative, which provides free learning and skills training to people across the UK so they have the knowledge they need in order to grow in their confidence, career or business. It also follows a successful launch of a high street training hub in the centre of Edinburgh. https://learndigital.withgoogle.com/digitalgarage.
