We would like to hear your views on how South Ayrshire could be developed over the next 10 years.
The Council has just issued the Modified Proposed Local Development Plan (MPLD2) and we want you to get involved, and help influence developments in your community for years to come.
The MPLD2 sets out how we see South Ayrshire being developed over the next ten years, provides a framework which helps to guide development, and gives a broad indication of the scale and location of growth over a further ten years.
It indicates where development should and should not take place and covers all land uses, including: housing, transport, business and industry, tourism, coastal development and protection, green belt, renewable energy, office development, waste, agriculture and woodland.
In 2019 we ran an extensive consultation and received 534 comments from 156 people / organisations. Our modified Plan takes these comments into account and we would really like to hear your views, especially on the changes we have made.
Councillor Siobhian Brown, Economy and Culture Portfolio Holder said: "The Council and its partners have a clear and ambitious vision for South Ayrshire. We want it to be the best it can be, and for all people and places to have the opportunity to reach their full potential.
"By sharing their views on the modified Plan, our communities are helping to ensure we're ready to make the most of development opportunities, such as the Ayrshire Growth Deal and the regeneration of Ayr, while balancing these against other important factors such as the environment."
The consultation opens on Wednesday 1 July, 2020 and runs until 14 August, 2020. Comments on the Plan and the modifications, in particular, can be made at www.south-ayrshire.gov.uk/consultations
If you can't get online to use the website, you can write to us at: Lead Development Planner, South Ayrshire Council, Planning and Building Standards Service, County Buildings, Wellington Square, Ayr, KA7 1DR.
The deadline for comments is 4:00pm on 14 August 2020.
There is no need to repeat or re-submit comments made on PLDP2 last autumn. We will pass previously submitted comments to the Scottish Government for them to consider.
