People in Girvan and surrounding villages are being encouraged to show their support for local community groups by voting for their favourites. The latest Girvan and South Carrick decision day will be held on Saturday 2 March 2019 at Girvan Academy.
The Girvan and South Carrick villages' locality planning group event is part of a drive to get people actively involved in local decision making known as 'Participatory Budgeting'. Building on the success of recent community funding decision days, this latest event will see groups pitch ideas for community projects to local people who will then vote to award funding.
Up to £13,000 is available and groups can be funded up to £1000. Voting is open to everyone 10 years old and over who lives, works, volunteers or studies in Ballantrae, Barrhill, Barr, Colmonell, Dailly, Girvan, Lendalfoot, Pinmore, Pinwherry.
The money is being made available from South Ayrshire Council, South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership, and the Alcohol and Drug Partnership.
The 'Decision Day' event takes place at Girvan Academy on Saturday, 2 March between 10am-1pm (please note entry will close 10am sharp). To book a seat or request further information call Sharron Connolly on 01292 612 158 or email: Sharron.Connolly@south-ayrshire.gov.uk
