Ayrshire Business Hub Open for Business
The Ayrshire Business Hub in the Arran Mall, Ayr is reopening to help local people start, grow or recover a business affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The superb facility now has full physical distancing and hygiene measures in place, and is ready to welcome local business people back so they can launch, expand or rebuild their company in a vibrant and supportive environment.
The Hub offers eight hot desks in a co-working space, which can be hired for just £5 per hour, or £50 for unlimited use for a whole month. There are also meeting, training and conference rooms available from £10 an hour, as well as offices to let from just £225 per calendar month. To top it all, there is administrative support, a colour printer and photocopier, and an onsite café currently offering limited refreshments, with full menus and services to follow.
Ayrshire Business Hub is sponsored by South Ayrshire Council's business support programme, AMBITION. Established by Angie McPike and run by volunteers, it is aimed at freelancers or entrepreneurs looking for affordable and professional space from which to run their business.
Angie said: "We've been working hard over the past few weeks to ensure the Ayrshire Business Hub is following all the guidelines for reopening safely and hygienically. We're fortunate in that we have a lot of space, and so we've been able to implement physical distancing without reducing our service or facilities. As well as offering hand sanitiser and wipes at each desk, the Hub will be professionally cleaned at the end of each business day, with full track and trace measures implemented. We look forward to welcoming new and familiar faces to our facility."
Councillor Siobhian Brown, Economy and Culture Portfolio Holder for South Ayrshire Council, visited the Hub to meet staff and volunteers, and to see first-hand what is on offer. She said:
"The Ayrshire Business Hub is a fantastic initiative to have in our community. Not only does it offer ideal facilities for running a business, but it also supports the community project The Ayrshire Women's Hub, where people can go to socialise, learn and empower each other through a programme of workshops and activities.
"I would like to thank Angie McPike and her team of staff and volunteers for their efforts in establishing this superb resource within our community. We are delighted to sponsor the Hub through our AMBITION programme and look forward to continuing to offer our support to help local people to achieve business success."
