What is HARP

Working in conjunction with NHS colleagues, HARP is exercise classes to assist people with heart, lung, cancer or stroke medical history to improve or maintain their health through regular physical activity.

How do I become involved in the classes?

You can be referred to HARP by a health professional e.g. doctor, practice nurse, cardiac / pulmonary physiotherapist, cancer nurse specialist, stroke specialist nurse, or one of the NHS HARP team .

Once your referral form is received by South Ayrshire Council’s Sports Development Health Team one of the team will call you to arrange an appointment for you to come and have an assessment prior to joining the class.

How much does it cost to join HARP?

Classes are £3.60 per attendance.

You can also, as a South Ayrshire resident receive a discount of up to 50% on activities by applying for a Leisure Card. Please click for more information.
