Our advisors can assist you with completing some of the more complex DWP and HMRC application forms. Appointments can be arranged at a range of locations across South Ayrshire and in some instances we can complete forms online via a telephone appointment and arrange collection of the forms at your local Customer Service Centre.

Frequently asked questions

I have an appointment with the Information and Advice Hub and I was advised that to complete some of the details on the form before the appointment but I can’t remember which parts?

Everyone will be asked to complete their personal details; name, address, contact numbers and in some cases we will ask you to complete your GP and medication information on the forms before you attend for your appointment. This is to try and keep our appointments on time, our advisors are generally booked in with appointments back to back and we try to keep the appointment for the most complex parts of the application form.

Where customers have literacy issues and cannot manage to complete the parts of the form requested they should explain this to the advisor when making the appointment, we will assist in the full completion of the form and can make onward referrals for assistance with literacy skills which could help with future applications in a range of areas.

The Information and Advice Hub assisted me to complete my claim for PIP, the DWP awarded me standard rate care and I feel I should have been given a higher award?

Where our advisors assist in form filling, they will always request that you update them with the outcome of your application, this helps us to capture data about our service and to measure trends in the area in relation to the benefits being awarded. In the same respect if you are unhappy with an award of benefit, make contact with our office and we will guide you on the next steps to take in relation to your award or advise you if they feel the award you have received is fair.
