Consultation on Day Services for Adults with Learning Disabilities

The South Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is considering ways to reduce costs while ensuring that key services are still in place.

The Integration Joint Board (IJB) has agreed the principle of introducing charges for day services for both adults and older people. This will include day services for adults with learning disabilities. The Board made its decision subject to a consultation exercise with stakeholders.

Through this consultation exercise we are inviting individuals to submit their views on this proposal and feedback received will be used to inform the final decision made by the Board.

In addition, we would also invite you to submit any suggestions that you might have on how we might improve the day services provided in South Ayrshire. One example might be, for example, a seven day week day care service.

As part of this process we want to understand the views of the relatives, carers, users of day services and the public at large. This feedback will help inform decisions on the future provision of day services for adults with learning disabilities.
