How to apply
We would encourage any group that has an interest in land or a building to contact Sarah Baird in the Community Asset Transfer team
for an initial discussion on their ideas. This helps us to understand the interest and needs and to direct you to support available.
Stage 1 CAT Initial Enquiry Form
Preparing a business case for a formal Asset Transfer Request can be a big task; therefore, applicants are required to submit an
expression of interest prior to submitting a formal asset transfer request.
Before you submit a completed Expression of Interest form:
The submitted initial expression of interest will then be checked by the Community Asset Team who will engage with applicants to
provide useful information including advice on the title, condition of the property and running costs etc.
Submit a CAT Stage 1 Expression of Interest
Stage 2 Formal CAT request
Once the Enquiry form has been checked and discussed and the applicant has confirmed that they wish to progress, the applicant may
submit a formal Community Asset Transfer request by submitting the Stage 2 formal Community Asset Transfer Request form, available
on request from the CAT team.
Where two or more community organisations have an interest in the asset, the Council would expect them to work together and come to
an agreement on the way forward. This may involve a joint bid.
Further information on the application process is provided in the Councils
Introduction to the CAT process.
