Railway Preservation Group (Ayrshire)

The Railway Preservation Group are operators of the Scottish Industrial Railway Centre, Dunaskin, Waterside which is based on part of the former Dalmellington Iron Company railway system, which was one of the best known industrial railway systems in Britain.  Steam worked up until 1978 when the collieries it served in the scenic Doon valley closed. It is the aim of the Centre to preserve part of the railway.
