Mindfulness is a mental state achieved by focussing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. Training in meditation and mindfulness brings many benefits. Mindfulness protects our mind from negative states of mind such as anger and anxiety which can cause us stress and mental and physical upset. Our mind is calm and peaceful for longer periods and we are happier. These classes introduce mindfulness practices we can use to help us take control and deal with the stresses and challenges of our daily lives.
