Get into Summer in South Ayrshire

Get into Summer

As part of our commitment to supporting children and young people in South Ayrshire to grow well, live well and age well, we're proud to announce the launch of our brand-new summer activity programme.

Thanks to funding from the Scottish Government and sportscotland, we have a fantastic range of fun, free activities available over the summer holidays that will help to improve health and wellbeing.

There's something to suit all ages and abilities, with summer sports camps; volleyball; orienteering; dance classes; tennis; gymnastics and football just some of the activities on offer. Activities are available for all age groups, from early years to secondary age pupils, and children and young people with additional support needs. We've also partnered with local sports clubs and organisations who are offering their own range of programmes.

Councillor William Grant, South Ayrshire Council's Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People said: "The last year has been really tough for families, with many events being cancelled or postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"There's no doubt it's had an effect on the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. I'm really pleased that we're able to make a difference with our summer activity programme, which will create new opportunities to socialise, play and reconnect this summer."

Activities will begin on Monday 28 June, and it's advised to book in advance. Visit our website to see what's on offer and find out how you can book a place.
