Recovery plans and associated risk assessments currently underpin many aspects of service planning.
It is important when completing Covid-related plans and assessments that consideration is given to the opportunities presented by the response to the pandemic. For the majority of services there was an associated shift to more digital solutions, new ways of working, remote and home working, and significant changes to service delivery (some of which may be long-term and permanent). All of these aspects need to be considered, alongside the impact of Covid on the ability of the service to deliver on previous plans and objectives.
In essence, workforce and succession planning must be considered alongside recovery and risk, and vice-versa. Horizon Scannng will also be a useful tool in this process.
