There are a range of data sources that can help inform workforce and succession planning.

Below are some examples -

  • Oracle HR and Payroll

The main source of data for workforce profiles, but managers also have direct access to a range of employee information via the SAC Service Reporting function.

  • Corporate Systems

Including, but not limited to, Etarmis (flexi and annual leave),  Liberty (telephony), BOB (supply/contract employee scheduling), Lagan (customer complaints and feedback), and new starter and exit surveys.

  • Corporate Policy Team

A range of demographic and service user data is available via the Socio-Economic Profile.

  • HSCP Planning and Performance

A range of health and social care related data, including Locality Planning.

  • Risk, Safety and Resilience Team

A range of related registers, data and documents related to strategic and operational risk can be accessed by contacting the team directly.

  • Association for Public Service Excellence (APSE)

The APSE network provides Performance Benchmarking for Frontline Local Government Service.

  • Local Government Benchmarking Framework

The framework brings together a wide range of information about how all Scottish councils perform in delivering services to local communities.

  • Professional Institutes

Many institutes and professional bodies collate and share service specifc workforce data - examples include the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) and the The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS)
