Welfare Rights
Enquiry and Information Team
Social Work systems have identified that a large number of enquiries received through
initial contact at the Social Work offices, relate to issues about housing, social
security benefits, practical assistance with claim forms and general money advice.
The Enquiry and Information team is at 80-88 Kyle Street, Ayr, KA7 1RZ and consist of two teams: Enquiry and
Information Team or Welfare Rights.
(Members of the public should always contact one of our Enquiry and Information
Assistants in the first instance.)

where the Duty Worker can refer you on.
The key aim of the Enquiry and Information Team will be to enable individuals to
have a benefit check to ensure income is maximised.
What Services Are Available?
- Benefit Checks
- Assistance with benefit claim forms
- General money advice
- Referrals to specialist teams
A wide range of advice and practical help is available at first point of contact.
This will include an assessment of needs for referral on, if an individual chooses,
to a specialist team. For example needs for community based services such as meals
at Home, Community Alarm, will be referred on to the Community Care Team.

- Welfare Rights Service
