Public Conveniences

Following a comprehensive review, the Council has adopted a programme of rationalisation and improvement which will reduce the total number of public conveniences in South Ayrshire from 28 to 19 but will lead to improved quality standards and modernised facilities in our town centres and at key visitor locations.

In accordance with the review, a figure of £450,000 has been committed from the Council’s capital programme for 2008/09 to invest in a major refurbishment programme. An additional £50,000 a year will also be allocated partly to improve the day to day servicing and supervision and partly to help develop a system of public access to existing public and commercial facilities.

Please note that the following public convenience facilities will close with effect from 1st April 2008;

The Council provides 19 public conveniences throughout South Ayrshire, located in town centre and shorefront areas.
