South Ayrshire Council in partnership with CCL (North) Irvine www.cclnorth.com are piloting a scheme for the recycling of Hazardous Household Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). The Scottish Government awarded the Council funding to pilot the scheme and CCL (North) Irvine were selected to collect WEEE from the Council’s Community Recycling Centres. The scheme will commence on 1 November 2006 and run until 31 July 2007, or when the funding runs out, and if further funding is received the contract may be extended. The scheme will involve the Council placing dedicated skips at 3 of its Household Waste Recycling Centres to enable you to deposit televisions and computer equipment which will then be collected by CCL (North) Irvine where the components will be recycled.
