Green Bin
How
to use your GREEN BIN
Your green bin is for waste that cannot be recycled.
Your green bin will be emptied every 2 weeks, alternating with your blue and brown
recycling bins.
For households that have six or more people residing in the one house or for householders
that have clinical needs, permission may be give for an additional green bin. Each
application is individually assessed by the Waste Strategy Department. For more
information please contact the Recycling Helpline on 0845 6012020.
Please note that only one green bin per household will be emptied. If you have purchased
an additional green bin this can be exchanged free of charge for
a blue or brown bin.
Your normal collection day will not change and
your bins will be emptied at the kerbside. If your bin is pulled out for you, this
service will continue.
Please place your GREEN bin at the kerbside before 7.00am on your normal collection
day with the lid closed.
Do not place any additional bags next to your green bin.
If you are unsure whether a certain item can be recycled, please contact the recycling
helpline on 0300 123 0900.
You can arrange for bulky household waste to be collected via the special uplift
service, please contact 0300 123 0900 for further information. You can also take
a wide range of bulky household waste and recyclates to your Local Household Waste
Recycling Centre.
