Zero Waste

Changes to Your Kerbside Recycling Service

Blue Bin Collections - From Monday 27th February 2012

From Monday 27th February, householders will require to place their glass bottles and jars in their blue bin for recycling instead of using their black box.

The black box for glass recycling will therefore be discontinued from Monday 27th February, but householders should retain the black box until further notice as it may be needed for additional recycling in the future.

In addition to glass being accepted in the blue bin, some additional waste items can also be placed in the bin from 27th February onwards.

The full list of what can be accepted for recycling in the blue bin from 27th February is:

From 1st March to 30th November 2012

Your brown bin will be emptied once every four weeks from 1st March to 30th November.

Please refer to your recycling calendar, and where you see a blue and brown shaded line this means that you can place out a blue and/or a brown bin for collection on your appointed collection day.
